The winners of the Slovenian and Youth Awards for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development HORUS and ADRASTOS 2023 have been announced
Awards and prizes were presented to 25 recipients in Ljubljana.
(Ljubljana, December 14, 2023) Today, IRDO – Institute for the Development of Social Responsibility awarded 15 outstanding organizations and individuals with the HORUS 2023 awards and recognitions for social responsibility and sustainable development. As well as 7 outstanding projects of young people and for young people as part of ADRASTOS 2023 – Slovenian Youth Award for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development. The award ceremony took place at the Ljubljana City Hall, co-financed by the Youth Office of the Republic of Slovenia. The awards were made by academic sculptor Katja Majer.
The Strategic Integrity Award was presented to Nova KBM d.d. and GateHub d.o.o. among for-profit legal entities, and among non-profit legal entities, the People’s University of Slovenska Bistrica.
The award for the project in the category of for-profit legal entities was given to the following companies: Poslovni sistem Mercator d.o.o. (White Packaging) and Ozara, service and disability company d.o.o. (Intergenerational cooperation), and the recipient of the finalist award was Poslovni sistem Mercator d.o.o. (Sustainable posters).
The award for the project in the category of non-profit legal entities was received by the company Allium, employment center, z.o.o., so.p. (Circular story: We Don’t Throw Food Away). The recipients of the finalist award in this category were: the Public Institute for Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Municipality of Ormož (Dispersed Hotel Jeruzalem Slovenia), the People’s University of Slovenska Bistrica (For Safe Life, Property and the Environment) and the Association for Assistance to Vulnerable Groups of the Population UP-ornik (Six Million Boats for Six Million Victims).
Among the individuals, Tina Cipot received a special Horus 2023 award, followed by other finalists – Boris Krabonja, Dr. Lučka Lorber, Aleksander Batič and Aleksander Onišak.
The Strategists of the Year 2023 for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development were Katjuša Koprivnikar, Procurator, Sincular Consulting d.o.o., Metka Zabret, Associate, Telekom Slovenije, d.d., and Prof. Dr. Barbara Bradač Hojnik, Full Professor, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Maribor.
Horus is one of the most recognizable professional awards in Slovenia in the field of social responsibility and sustainable development, with the longest history of awarding. Since 2009, almost 300 organizations and individuals have been registered as holders of Horus awards and recognitions. This year, the applications of the candidates in two rounds and different categories were evaluated by a total of 18 independent experts from various professional and partner institutions. To qualify as a finalist, candidates had to score at least 51% of all possible points. The evaluation committees focused primarily on a comprehensive approach to social responsibility and sustainable development, the activities carried out and the monitoring of effects.
At the same time, the Adrastos Youth Awards 2023 was held. In the ADRASTOS 2023 – SEEDS OF THE PRESENT category, the winner was the project Pre-recorded Safety Online Workshops (OTON, company for the development of educational processes, d.o.o.), the other finalists were: BANKA IDEJ – local fund for young people with ideas (Youth Cultural Center Maribor), Save the Savinja River (Institute for the Promotion of Environmental Protection), COOKING WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS (ADVANCED CHILDREN ASSOCIATION) and Fashion magazine “Raz-kroj” (Young Dragons Public Institute).
In the ADRASTOS 2023 – VISIONS OF THE FUTURE category, the winner was the project Sustainable FDV (Monsoon), and the second finalist was the YUNO project Catalogue: a freely accessible catalogue of prepared additional educational content for the upgrade of the public curriculum (OTON, company for the development of educational processes, d.o.o.).
The call for the Adrastos Prize was held for the first time this year, and the call for the Horus Award was held for the fifteenth time. The Horus Award is supported by a number of partners, such as: Slovenian Public Relations Association, Slovenian Employers’ Association, Manager Association, Styrian Chamber of Commerce, Slovenian Marketing Association, Slovenian Journalists’ Association, Slovenian United Nations Association for Sustainable Development, Slovenian Association for Quality and Excellence, Institute Centre for Information, Cooperation and Development of Non-Governmental Organisations, Slovenian Diversity Charter, British-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and others. This year, the project is also co-financed by the Youth Office of the Republic of Slovenia. The partner of monitoring publications in the media is the company Press Clipping. The certification development partner is the international certification body TÜV Austria.
