The winners of the Slovenian (and Youth) Awards for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development HORUS and ADRASTOS 2024 have been announced

In Ljubljana, awards and recognitions were presented to 26 recipients.

(Ljubljana, December 10, 2024) Today, IRDO – Institute for the Development of Social Responsibility awarded 22 outstanding organizations and individuals with the HORUS 2024 awards and recognitions for social responsibility and sustainable development. As well as 4 outstanding projects of young people and for young people within the framework of ADRASTOS 2024 – Slovenian Youth Award for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development. The ADRASTOS Award was awarded for the second year, and the HORUS Award for the sixteenth time in a row.

Horus is one of the most recognizable professional awards in Slovenia in the field of social responsibility and sustainable development, with the longest history of awarding. Since 2009, almost 300 organizations and individuals have been registered as holders of Horus awards and recognitions. This year,  the applications of candidates in two rounds and different categories were evaluated  by a total of 21 independent experts from various professional and partner institutions. To qualify as a finalist, candidates had to score at least 51% of all possible points. The evaluation committees focused primarily on  a comprehensive approach to social responsibility and sustainable development, the activities carried out and  the monitoring of effects.

The award for strategic integrity among for-profit legal entities was received  by Lumar IG d.o.o. and Lidl Slovenija d.o.o. k.d., which narrowly beat the finalist OTP banka d.d.

Recognition for the project in the categories of for-profit legal entities was received by the following companies: Press Clipping d.o.o. (Color Thoughts: Information in the Picture), ASTRAZENECA UK LIMITED, branch in Slovenia (Youth Health Program Slovenia (YHP)) and Poslovni sistem Mercator d.o.o. (The Little Boss of Slovenia). The finalists in these categories were: Komunala Brežice d.o.o. (Dynamic IntraKom), Life Learning Academia (Learning points (UT/LP)) and ASTRAZENECA UK LIMITED, branch in Slovenia (SR&SD project Kidneys Queen).

The award for the project in the category of non-profit legal entities was received  by the Care and Work Centre POLŽ Maribor (Happy to Work),  and the finalist in this category was the Centre for Home Assistance Maribor (ProAkt – Health in the Palm of Your Hand).

Among the individuals, Špelca Rudolf received a special Horus 2024 award, followed by other finalists: Stojan Rozman, Dr. Marjetka Kastner, mag. Viktor Žakelj and DDr. Milan Krajnc.

The Strategies of the Year 2024 for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development were: Renata Bačvič, Adult Education Organizer, Cene Štupar Public Institute – Centre for Education Ljubljana; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tjaša Štrukelj, Higher Education Teacher / Associate Professor, University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business; Klemen Medved, Head of ESG, Poslovni sistem Mercator d.o.o., and Dr. Sandra Jordan, Director, Meja Šentjur d.d.

The ESRS EXPERTS for Sustainability Reporting in 2024 were: Marko Razdevšek, CSO, Engrotuš d.o.o., and Miro Peharda, Director, AS Teh d.o.o..

HORUS 2024 evaluators were: Matej Mušič (president), Natalie Cvikl Postružnik (vice-president), dr. Barbara Bradač Hojnik, Alenka Zelenič, Mojca Marija Jenčič Petrovčič, Prof. Emeritus DDr. Matjaž Mulej, Veronika Gruden, Monika Rajšp, Barbara Pušnik, Martina Drakulič, Jasmina Roškar, Tilen Tadej Žafran, Lan Wudler, Nomi Hrast, Jože Gornik, Katjuša Koprivnikar, Vinko Nedelko, Matic Stergar, and for education: Simona Roškar, MSc.., Karidia Toure Zagrajšek and Anita Hrast, MSc..

At the same time, the ADRASTOS 2024 – Slovenian Youth Award for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development – Youth Awards ceremony took place. The evaluators for this award were: Danaja Postružnik (President), Anej M Irgolič (Vice-President), Kaja Bračič, Monika Rajšp, Nomi Hrast, Luka Lah, Prof. Emeritus DDr. Matjaž Mulej.

In the category SEEDS OF THE PRESENT, the  winner was the project Digitization of Educational Preparations of Diabetes Knowledge Competitions (OTON, d.o.o.), and in the category VISIONS OF THE FUTURE  the project Additional Elective Course: Social Responsibility (YUNO Katalog, Oton d.o.o.). The second finalist in this category was the project Preserving the Environment through the Promotion of Mental Health, Entrepreneurship and Education (Tjaša Gorenc). In the new category BEST MENTOR, the award was given to Mojca Mesner from Slovenian Philanthropy.

Candidates for awards and recognitions of the calls for proposals for HORUS and ADRASTOS received recognitions and awards at the award ceremony held on 10.12.2024 at  the IBM Innovation Center Ljubljana, Ameriška ulica 8, Ljubljana. The winners received works of art – a sculptural work with a cosmogram (strategic awards) or a drawing (projects, special mentions)by Katja Majer, an academic sculptor.

The Horus Award is supported by a number of partners, such as: Slovenian Public Relations Association, Slovenian Employers’ Association, Manager Association, Styrian Chamber of Commerce, Slovenian Marketing Association, Slovenian Journalists’ Association, Slovenian United Nations Association for Sustainable Development, Slovenian Association for Quality and Excellence, Institute Centre for Information, Cooperation and Development of Non-Governmental Organisations, Slovenian Diversity Charter,  British-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and others. This year, the project is also co-financed by the applicants (for Horus), the IRDO Institute and the Youth Office of the Republic of Slovenia. The partner of monitoring publications in the media is the company Press Clipping. The certification development partner is the international certification body TÜV Austria.
